| Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is an imaging modality particularly well suited to imaging the soft tissues of the human body, without the need for the ionizing radiation associated with modalities such as X-Ray, CT Scanning and Nuclear Medicine. Using the inherent properties of the body, together with a strong magnetic field and radio-frequency pulses, images can be created in any plane with exceptional detail. MRI system of its kind in Australia, the Hitachi AIRIS II. The design
of this system is ideal for claustrophobic, paediatric and larger patients
who may not be able to tolerate conventional “tunnel” shaped
